Honours Teacher of the Year Award

Dear students,

During the Honours Community Day on May 10th, we will once again award the most inspiring honours teacher with the honours Teacher of the Year award! With this award we want to appreciate and stimulate the great work honours teachers are doing within our university. And the best part is: The candidates for the honours Teacher of the Year award are nominated by you!

Do you know an honours teacher that is passionate about honours education, that challenged you to move beyond your comfort zone, and/or who is supportive of your ideas and allows you to (partially) shape your own learning experience? If so, nominate them for this award!

You can nominate an honours teacher by filling out and submitting this form before April 10th, 2023.

How does the selection of the winner work, and what do they win?

A committee consisting of the UU Honours Dean, two Honours Directors and two Honours students from the UU Honours Student Council will select the winner. The winner will receive a price of € 500,- to spend on honours educational activities at Utrecht University.

How do you nominate a teacher?

You can nominate an honours teacher by filling out and submitting this form before April 10th, 2023. You fill out this form in a group of three students, where the student filling out the form will be the main point of contact for the nomination.

What happens once you’ve nominated a teacher?

In the case your nominee is shortlisted as one of the final candidates, you will receive an invitation no later than April 12th to motivate your choice in front of the selection committee on April 15th, 2023. This can be done by you, or one of the other two affiliated students.

When will the 2023 honours Teacher of the Year be announced?

The prize of the honours Teacher of the Year 2023 will be awarded during the Honours Community Day on May 10th, 2023.
