De Logica Van Magie

Van Game of Thrones tot Harry Potter: magie is al lang niet meer alleen voor nerds. De boeken en films staan in een lange traditie van magisch denken. Waar komt onze fascinatie voor spreuken, spoken en fantasiedieren vandaan? Volgens wetenschapshistoricus dr. Daan Wegener (UU) is magie zeker geen onzin. In het verleden was het een belangrijk wapen tegen bijgeloof, en het heeft zelfs bijgedragen aan het ontstaan van de moderne wetenschap. Wegener vertelt over de waarde van magie en welke rol toverkunst speelt nu nog speelt in onze samenleving.

In samenwerking met de faculteiten Sociale Wetenschappen, Bètawetenschappen en Geesteswetenschappen (UU).
